What documents do I need to rent a car from Thessaloniki Car Rental?
You need a valid ID or passport, as well as a valid driving license. For drivers outside the EU, an International Driving Permit may also be required, in accordance with applicable legislation.
What is the minimum age to rent a car?
The minimum age is 23 years, with at least 2 years of driving experience. For certain car categories, a higher minimum age may be required.
What is included in the rental price?
The rental price usually includes:
- the type of insurance you choose,
- unlimited or predefined mileage (depending on the rental duration),
- all applicable legal taxes.
Any additional coverages or services are clearly displayed during the booking process.
Is a deposit or credit card required?
Yes, a deposit is required and is usually held via a credit or debit card in the main driver’s name. The deposit amount depends on the vehicle category and the type of insurance you choose.
Can I pick up or return the car at the airport or at my hotel?
Yes. Thessaloniki Car Rental offers car delivery and pick-up at Thessaloniki Airport (SKG), at hotels in the city center, or at other locations upon request. An additional charge may apply depending on the location and time.
Can I add an additional driver or a child seat?
Yes, you can add an additional driver, as well as child seats free of charge, or other optional extras (such as GPS) for a small additional fee. All available options are shown during the booking process or can be added by contacting us.
What happens in case of a breakdown or an accident?
In case of a mechanical breakdown or an accident, please contact Thessaloniki Car Rental immediately using the contact details provided in your rental agreement. We will guide you step by step and, where necessary, arrange roadside assistance or a replacement vehicle, in accordance with the terms of the contract.
Can I change or cancel my booking?
Yes, you can modify or cancel your booking in accordance with the company’s cancellation policy. In many cases, free cancellation is available up to 48 hours before the start of the rental; after that, cancellation fees may apply.
What payment methods are available?
We usually accept credit and debit cards, and in some cases payment in cash or prepayment via bank transfer may also be available, according to our current policy. Any requirement for a card in the main driver’s name is clearly stated in the rental terms.
Can I drive the car outside Greece or take it by ferry to an island?
Driving outside Greece or transporting the vehicle by ferry (for example, to an island) is only allowed with prior written approval from Thessaloniki Car Rental and may involve additional insurance or charges. Please inform us during the booking process if you plan to travel outside Greece or to an island.
What happens in case of a traffic violation or fine?
The driver is fully responsible for any traffic violations and related fines during the rental period. If Thessaloniki Car Rental later receives a ticket or notification, the fine amount and any applicable legal or administrative fees will be charged to the renter, in accordance with the rental agreement.
